How important to remember "it is a law of the human mind that by beholding we become changed". Makes you think about the things we spend our time on...
I really feel this is happening a lot around us "As sin became general, it appeared less and less sinful, and they finally declared that the divine law was no longer in force". Again, who are we to think we know better than God and His laws?!
And what a test of faith for Noah and his family to be in the ark for 7 days before anything happend...but isn't that how sin works and the Devil makes us doubt things? For 120 years Noah put everything (p95) he had into building the ark. He witnessed the animals obeying God's command to enter the ark. He and his family entered the ark and they witnessed the hand of God closing the ark shut. But yet, they sat in the ark for 7 days doubting and having their faith tested! (p98).
Also, I never realized how powerful the flood really was. I always assumed just raising waters - but actually Ellen White shares with us that "water burst from the earth with indescribable force, throwing massive rocks hundreds of feet into the air... (pg. 99) It was so powerful that even Satan feared for his own existence!
